- Some scorers and fans disagreed with the official scorer's decision to charge an error to Packers shortstop Johnny Rawlings rather than credit catcher Walter Blair with a hit on an easy grounder in the third inning. According to one newspaper account, Rawlings "loafed on the ball, knocked it down with one hand and then was too lazy to throw the ball to first," and some reported that Main had thrown a one-hitter.
- Packers manager and first baseman George Stovall skipped the game because he'd had an altercation with umpire Tommy Corcoran two days before and Stovall insisted he'd refuse to play any game umpired by Corcoran. Third baseman George Perring played first instead and tripled, walked, and drove in two of Kansas City's six runs.
