Did You Know?
- This was the first no-hitter thrown at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.
- Erickson's no-hitter was the first by a Twins pitcher since 1967 (Dean Chance vs. Indians on August 25, 1967 at Cleveland Stadium).
- Going into the game, the Twins had a 7.41 ERA and had allowed fewer than four runs only once in their first 21 starts.
- Erickson was 1-3 with a 7.48 ERA that dropped to 5.28 after the no-hitter.
- Twins general manager Larry McPhail credited an altered grip on Erickson's slider for his success, but the hurler faced the Brewers again six days later in Milwaukee and allowed seven runs on nine hits in only five innings.
- Erickson's no-hitter came during a stretch in which he won only 27% of his decisions (9-24) and after a season in which he led the American League in losses (19 in 1993).
