Did You Know?
- Frank Allen started his no-hitter by issuing walks to Al Bridwell, Delos Drake, and Ward Miller to load the bases with two outs, but Grover Hartley hit into a force out to end the inning.
- Another Terrier didn't reach base until the ninth inning when Allen walked dangerous pinch-hitter Doc Crandall on four straight pitches, a move that brought boos from St. Louis fans who suspected the free pass was intentional.
- Allen benefited from two defensive gems--right fielder Jim Kelly made a nice catch of Jack Tobin's long drive in the sixth, grabbing the ball with his back against the fence, and center fielder and manager Rebel Oakes ran down Drake's low liner in the ninth to help preserve the no-hitter.

Did You Know?
- St. Louis' outfield recorded only four putouts with left fielder Ward Miller hauling in three of them.
- Davenport walked catcher Art Wilson and pitcher Ad Brennan, and Tex Wisterzil reached first on an error by catcher Grover Hartley, but none reached second base.
- At only an hour and 19 minutes, this is tied for the fastest no-hitter thrown in the Modern Era (Clyde Shoun vs. Braves on May 15, 1944 at Crosley Field in Cincinnati).
